Oct 21, 2009 at Karen's in Olathe, KS

Dad had a difficult day yesterday. He did not have the strength to get up from his bed, and there was a lot of confusion on his part. He did have a bell, and rang it at some point because he did not know what to do. That is pretty big, since short term memory is an issue. Could be his inability to walk was a "seizure" similar to what he had August 16, from the brain tumor. Later he was able to walk OK, with help. He also had a headache, which we have been expecting for some time .... but this is new.

Dave and Becky arrived from Canada to be with him a week, and they will take him back to Abilene so he can be back under his hospice care. Karens report late last night:

"well Dad's an interesting guy....today seemed like he had a bad day...and he seemed pretty weak...and a little loopy....but when Dave and Becky got here he talked more than I ever heard him talk....he was telling stories....it was pretty funny to see the burst of energy...and he seems back to normal...the normal he's been since being here...so we will see...Dave is doing his insulin right now and they are having a fun time...and it's midnight...so who knows?...just God!"

As a family, we have been enjoying listening to some of his radio programs.
